1. Scope and applicability
This Code applies to all Academy services and environments, including: (i) the website and Platform, (ii) online courses and discussion areas, and (iii) in-person hands-on training venues.
Participation requires compliance with this Code, the Terms & Conditions, the Medical & Educational Disclaimer, and any venue-specific rules communicated before or during training.
2. Professional conduct
Participants must behave professionally and respectfully at all times.
- Maintain respectful communication and collegial behaviour.
- No harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or bullying of any kind.
- Follow instructor directions and respect training staff and venue personnel.
- Arrive on time and prepared, and participate in a manner consistent with a postgraduate medical setting.
Behaviour that undermines safety, learning, or professionalism may result in immediate removal from training and/or Platform access restrictions.
3. Patient confidentiality and data
Patient confidentiality is non-negotiable. You must not disclose identifiable patient information in any Academy context.
- No sharing of patient names, contact details, dates of birth, or other direct identifiers.
- No uploading or displaying patient photos, videos, scans, or documents unless explicitly permitted and fully anonymised.
- Where case discussion occurs, present information in a de-identified and professionally appropriate manner.
- You remain responsible for compliance with medical confidentiality duties and applicable privacy laws (including GDPR where relevant).
4. Safety, hygiene, and infection control
In all hands-on settings, safety rules, sterile technique requirements, and infection control protocols must be followed without exception.
- Follow the Academy’s and venue’s hygiene protocols (hand hygiene, PPE, sterile field rules).
- Use sharps and instruments according to safety guidance; report any incident immediately.
- Do not perform any technique beyond the scope of the session or contrary to instructor directions.
- Comply with emergency procedures and venue safety instructions.
5. Hands-on training rules
Hands-on training is supervised education. Participants must respect the structure of the session and instructor authority.
- Instructor decisions regarding safety, participation, and training flow are final.
- Do not touch equipment, instruments, or models/patients unless specifically instructed and authorised.
- Do not pressure instructors, staff, models, or participants to deviate from the training plan.
- Comply with any eligibility, prerequisite, and competency boundaries set for the training.
Participation does not constitute certification of competence or authorisation to perform procedures independently.
6. Recording, photography, and IP
To protect privacy, safety, and intellectual property, the Academy applies strict recording rules.
- No recording: do not audio-record, video-record, screen-record, or photograph training content without explicit written permission.
- No redistribution: do not share Academy content or materials with colleagues, clinics, assistants, or third parties.
- IP protection: all course materials remain the property of the Academy and/or its licensors.
Unauthorized recording or distribution is considered a serious breach and may result in immediate termination of access and legal action where appropriate.
7. Online community behaviour
If discussion features are available, you must maintain professional standards consistent with a postgraduate medical environment.
- No posting of confidential, unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, or unprofessional material.
- No solicitation, advertising, or recruitment without written permission.
- No attempts to bypass access controls, scrape content, or disrupt Platform operations.
8. Substance use and impairment
Participation in hands-on training requires full physical and cognitive fitness.
- No participation while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or medication that compromises judgement or motor skills.
- The Academy may refuse participation where impairment is suspected, for safety reasons.
9. Enforcement and consequences
The Academy may take proportionate measures to enforce this Code, including:
- warnings and corrective instructions;
- temporary suspension from Platform access or a training session;
- removal from a hands-on session (immediate where necessary);
- account termination for serious or repeated breaches.
Enforcement may occur without refund where services have been delivered or where access is terminated due to breach.
10. Reporting concerns
If you witness unsafe behaviour, confidentiality breaches, harassment, or any conduct that compromises safety or professionalism, report it to Academy staff as soon as possible.
