This Cookie Policy explains how Doctor Yilmaz Academy uses cookies and similar technologies on academy.doctoryilmaz.com (the “Website” and “Platform”). 1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit a website. Cookies can be sent back to our servers (or third-party servers) on a later visit. Similar technologies (such as local storage or pixels) may be used for comparable purposes.

Some cookies are strictly necessary for the Platform to work (e.g., login sessions, security). Optional cookies (e.g., analytics or embedded media) are used only when permitted by your settings and applicable law.

2. Consent & managing preferences

Where required by law, we ask for your consent through a cookie banner. You can change your choices at any time.

  • Withdraw or change consent: open the cookie banner and adjust your preferences, then save.
  • Alternative: you can also delete cookies in your browser (see Section 7). This may log you out or reset preferences.

If your site includes a dedicated settings page, link it here: (optional) Cookie settings.

“Do Not Track” browser signals are not a formal consent mechanism under GDPR. Where feasible, we respect browser controls, but we rely on consent choices made via the banner and your browser settings.

3. Types of cookies we use

We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary (functional): required for login, session management, security, load balancing, and basic platform operation.
  • Preferences: remember choices you make (e.g., cookie preference state) so you do not need to repeat them.
  • Analytics (optional): help us understand how visitors use the Website (e.g., pages visited, time on page) so we can improve. These cookies are used only if enabled in your settings and where legally required.
  • Embedded media (optional): third-party cookies that may be set when you view embedded content (e.g., YouTube), depending on your settings.

Marketing/tracking: We do not place advertising cookies unless you explicitly enable them through the banner (and only if we actually deploy such tools). If we add or change advertising technologies, we will update this Cookie Policy and the cookie list below.

4. Cookie list (best-effort overview)

The table below is a best-effort overview of cookies commonly used on this type of Platform (WordPress/WooCommerce-style) and embedded media. The exact set can change depending on plugins, updates, and configuration. If you see a cookie not listed here, contact us and we will review it.

Cookie name (example) Provider Category Purpose Typical retention Can be refused?
cookie_notice_accepted / cmplz_* First-party Preferences Stores your cookie consent preferences. 6–12 months (varies) Yes (optional)

woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart First-party Strictly necessary Supports cart functionality (if the shop/enrollment checkout is used). Session No (required)
wp_woocommerce_session_* First-party Strictly necessary Stores session data related to checkout/enrollment flow. Typically 2 days No (required)
_ga, _ga_* (only if enabled) Google (Analytics) Analytics (optional) Measures usage statistics (pages, sessions) to improve the Platform. Up to 2 years Yes (optional)
VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YSC, CONSENT (may apply) YouTube / Google Embedded media (optional) Enables and measures interaction with embedded YouTube content (may vary with youtube-nocookie.com). Session to months Yes (optional)

Note: Cookie names can differ per plugin/version. The “Provider” indicates who sets the cookie. First-party cookies are set by our domain. Third-party cookies can be set by embedded services (e.g., YouTube).

5. YouTube embeds & self-hosted video

We use two video delivery methods:

  • YouTube embeds: some pages may embed video via YouTube (including youtube-nocookie.com where configured). Embedded video can load third-party resources and may set cookies depending on your consent settings and browser configuration.
  • Self-hosted video: some videos are served directly from our own hosting (MP4). These typically do not require third-party cookies, but the Platform may still use functional cookies for login and access control.

If you prefer to avoid third-party cookies, you can disable optional categories in the cookie banner and/or block third-party cookies in your browser.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, restrict, or delete personal data where applicable, and to object to certain processing. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

For requests regarding cookies and personal data, email info@academy.doctoryilmaz.com. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to verify your identity.

Complaints: If you have a complaint about our services, you can contact us first. If applicable, you may also use Klachtenportaalzorg for dispute resolution/complaints handling (where relevant to your situation).

7. Blocking & deleting cookies

You can block or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings. You can also configure your browser to notify you when a cookie is placed. If you disable cookies, parts of the Platform may stop working correctly (for example: login, enrollment/checkout, or video access).

Browser-specific instructions (external links):

  • Firefox
  • Google Chrome
  • Internet Explorer (legacy)
  • Safari on Mac
  • Safari on iPhone/iPad

If third-party cookies are used (e.g., embedded media), you may be able to manage them centrally via industry tools. Availability depends on region and providers.

8. Changes & contact

We may update this Cookie Policy when the Platform changes (e.g., new plugins, new embedded services, new analytics tools). The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent revision. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
